Police told how to investigate women after pregnancy loss
The National Police Chief Council (NPCC) is further fuelling hostility and suspicion against women and women’s rights to bodily autonomy, as well as making access to a proposition which could find women under investigation in updated national guidance.
The new guidance directs police to search women’s homes for abortion medication. It also directs police to seize women’s digital devices to check women’s internet history, messages to friends and family, and menstrual tracker apps, in an effort to help investigators “establish a woman’s knowledge and intention related to the pregnancy”.

The BBC has released a secretly obtained leaked recording which exposes serious concerns over the arrest of Nicola Packer. A woman was arrested for taking abortion pills at 26 weeks pregnant after mistakenly believing she was just six weeks pregnant after incorrectly tracking her period.
The arrest occurred one day after Packer delivered a stillborn baby at home, she was taken into custody while bleeding and recovering after major surgery. A senior midwife at London's Chelsea and Westminster Hospital initially contacted police to report Packer.

Joey Barton handed a 12-week suspended prison sentence after kicking wife in head
Joey Barton has been handed a 12-week suspended sentence for assaulting his wife Georgia Barton while their children were asleep upstairs. Barton pushed Mrs Barton to the ground and began kicking her in the head, leaving her with a lump on her head and bloody nose.
